Moving to the Pensacola area?

When people say they’re moving to Pensacola, one of the first things I tell them is: Don’t just look at Pensacola.

The Pensacola area is made up of a collection of communities, and each one has its own personality, pace and lifestyle. Where you choose to live can make a pretty big difference in how you experience life here.

Pensacola is the area’s historic and cultural hub. You’ll find downtown restaurants, local shops, historic neighborhoods, arts and entertainment, waterfront parks and a little more of that city feel.

Gulf Breeze is a different experience. You’re surrounded by water, close to Pensacola Beach and just across the bay from Pensacola. It has a more established, coastal-suburban feel and is popular with people who want that combination of convenience and beach access. Gulf Breeze Proper (the town center) is a golf cart friendly community and A-rated school.s

Pace has a more suburban, family-oriented personality. There are plenty of newer neighborhoods, shopping and restaurants, and it has grown tremendously over the years. If you want a newer home and a little more space while still being within reach of Pensacola, Pace is worth exploring.

Milton has a slower, more small-town and rural character, with larger properties, older homes, new construction and plenty of access to the Blackwater River and surrounding natural areas. Sweet little town center with great local shops and eateries along the river. You can often get “more bang for your buck” and more land in Milton.

Navarre is for those who want a more laid-back coastal lifestyle. You’re closer to the beach, outdoor recreation is a big part of everyday life, and the community has its own identity separate from Pensacola. Just a quick drive to the beautiful and relaxing Navarre Beach. A-rated schools and a beautiful waterfront park make this a special little town.

And then there are communities like Cantonment, Beulah, Perdido Key and Pensacola Beach, each with their own feel—from acreage and newer development to quiet coastal living and true beach-town life.

That’s one of the things I love about this area.

You don’t have to live in “Pensacola” to live the Pensacola lifestyle.

Whether you want walkability and downtown energy, a quiet neighborhood, more land, a beach nearby or a newer suburban community, there’s a good chance you can find a place that feels like you.

And that’s why I think choosing the right area is just as important as choosing the right house.

If you’re thinking about moving to the Pensacola area, I’d love to help you figure out which communities might be the best fit for your lifestyle, budget and daily routine.
